⚖️ Your rights at work

The national minimum wage (salário mínimo nacional) applies to everyone who works in Portugal, whatever their nationality. Check the current amount on gov.pt.

You have the right to a written contract, paid holidays, and the holiday and Christmas allowances (subsídio de férias and subsídio de Natal). The normal maximum is 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.

If something is wrong (unpaid wages, no contract, unsafe work), the labour inspectorate ACT can help.
